And why did they raise Amber to 5k. I'll never get my elite kurzick armor now, wish I'd bought amber from the trader the day before the update. constantly sold out FTL!

well in 2 hours i 5 zones and got 150k luxon faction. of course that's with the double vanquish faction reward right now.

unwaking waters took 15 minutes and i got 24k faction from that alone.

amber and jade drops seem to have increased to offset the increased cost. plus it takes way shorter to get 5k faction now than it used to. the only reason why jade and amber are sold out right now is that people saw the change and bought out the jade and amber to make a profit selling to players who all of a sudden want jade and amber even though they didn't want it before. they're playing the market and it will settle out eventually.

I'd like to know the reasoning behind Kurzick Priests in Luxon Areas that give blessings to earn Kurzick Faction. I vanquished Silent Surf while it was controlled by the Kurzicks thinking I could get more Kurz Faction since there were Kurzick Priests there. I vanquish the area and earn 28k Luxon Faction? On top of that I earned 10k Kurzick Faction from the Blessings, that I cant spend because I have more Luxon Faction...

Anet is promoting Hard Mode to get people better at the game, imo. Besides, as Daenara said, Kurzick/Luxon titles were never meant for the casual player, and if you can't HM, then your a casual player.

I don't consider myself "leet" or event "elite" (other do for who knows what reason but meh), and I was this | | close to saying "get better at the game," but didn't because they said it, and I didn't want to sound like an elitist prick (they don't, but repeating it multiple times will make those repeaters sound like pricks).

She is trying to get a title that wasa intended for dedicated/non-casual players, which she is not a part of. Therefore, for her, it WILL be grind, NO MATTER WHAT.

Also, via 4 characters through doing all quests, and all NM missions, with the NM book once, you get 103,500 points to the title per character, that's 414,000 for four characters, or 828,000 for eight - which ends up with rank 1/3/5 (depending on how many characters your daughter has). That is no AB, no FA, no JQ, no Challenge Missions, just quests, bounty while questing (approximation), missions, and one NM book. Rank 5 is rather reasonable.

I applaud you for doing things with your kid(s?). But she, and you, should know what would be your limits as to what you should get done.

Sounds like you used cons, because when I did Unwaking, it took about 40 minutes. I think (been too long).

Seems to be, Luxon Area=Luxon Faction, Kurzick Area=Kurzick Faction. Also, for the last part.... you should be able to donate either faction no matter what, just can't talk to the normal Kurzick NPCs (i.e., Murchants and Traders), but you should be able to talk to the donate NPC.

I haven't had any problem getting faction. In fact, I'm trying out HM Cantha missions on my ele. I haven't played her in quite a while, and I must say it's a blast nuking again.

I haven't ABed since the update, but I fully intend to soon. I'm not hardcore farming/grinding, nor do I spend most of my time on GW in AB - but it should be interesting, and a lot faster too.

I spoke to the Faction Rewards guy in my GH & he told me to leave before he calls the guards (I had more Luxon Faction atm). When I exchanged Luxon Faction for Jadite I got penalized my remaining Kurzick Faction for donating my Luxon Faction.

not to mention u have PVE only skills and consumables ,can u not see the imbaness in them ?

ps:just vanquished 3 areas in kurzick side,took me 30-40 minutes each with guildies, everyone brought what build they wanted.Lol forgot it was fun doing stuff like this with people after all the vanquishing i done with H/H so ty Anet for a good update.

Lutgardis FFF/HFFF was NOT an exploit. Simply, it was a quest that took ~45 seconds to run with 4 AR/RA's and a DR person. With HFFF, all you did was flag heroes/hench in the four different spots. There was no exploit.

Like some others said, pick a area that you like and Vanquish it. Everyone in my alliance (#2 Luxon ally, current lead is CAT) are vanquishing Silent Surf, Mount Qinkai, and other places like that. ALL vanquishes are good during the weekend.

yeah u forgot the fact that when u flaged your heroes the mobs dont spawn in that side of the map,try going to each spot once than come back to portal and flag your heroes see if they can reach their destination.

HFFF worked the same way that unyielding aura hero running worked, i.e. heros don't spawn mobs outside of your radar, and that got nerfed too, it was just a matter of time.

By the way, to all the people complaining about the nerf, HFFF wasn't even playing guildwars; rather, it was playing a skinned to the bones version of minesweeper thousands of times and getting guildwars rewards for it. Neither placing flags nor zoning are a significant part of the guildwars play experience, and its good that you're not rewarded for just doing those over and over any more.

To the people who were complaining about only having half an hour free a day: are your tastes really so pathetic that you spend the 30 minutes you have free a day doing hfff? Get your priorities straight and do something fun, thats like earning $5 a day and then spending it on cigarettes and starving to death, bad choice no matter how you look at it.

I have gone from Rank 0 with 0 points to Rank 2 with 260,000 points on my Luxon title just this weekend playing casually. I now actually have something to do in Guild Wars as these (and Lightbringer) now seem possible with my 3-4 hours at a weekend that I get to play.

Big thumbs up to Anet for the update, your forgiven for killing Ursan

EDIT: I also feel the update breathed new life into Vanquishing. I've never seen the point in vanquishing as it's hard and very time consuming for no reward. Now you get your faction bar filled when you complete a VQ.
I vanquished 5 areas in Luxon, Cantha this weekend. I know your thinking "big deal I've done them all" but when you see that I've only ever bothered to VQ 23 areas before this update since HM was implemented it does show what an affect being able to see your progress has.

Why are people so hung up in this "beating factions 90 times" crap? If that were the only option to gaining faction, that would be a point. But, they improved the faction rewards in a vareity of ways - not just turning in story books.

I say, "Mix it up!" Fill out a book, then do some AB's for a while. Vanquish a couple of zones and then do some FA or JQ (if JQ gets some love from the players, that is). The challenge missions can be tossed into the mix somewhere, too.

That is just the way of life. You cant please everybody. And some people like to complain just for the sake of complaining. We are creatures of habit so change takes us out of our comfort zone and causes QQ.

I myself went from rank 5 lux to rank 7 today on my main account and from rank 3 to rank 6 on my secondary account. (faster than i ever expected.)

and all i did was vanquish a few areas while playing both accounts at the same time.

My list of QQ about this update, seeing how everyone else is complaining:
1) Did not fix glitch in Aurios Mines, still can be afk for hours for an insane score.
2) getting 100 points in Amitz Basin is harder to get than 100 points in other challege missions. Plus is much more difficult than winning an pvp activity for 1/5 the cap reward.
3) No faction bonus for doing elite missions in HM, only rewards is 3 extra jade/amber + random drop.
4) Not having books retroactive

But other than these small complaints, great update.
